Delta-V – Poulsbo, Washington (Remote) | Department: Delta-V | Full Time
Role Overview
The Director, Technical Delivery leads the technical production function of Delta-V, Masterworks' digital lifecycle marketing unit serving faith-based nonprofits. You'll manage a team of developers and contract resources building email, SMS, web, and marketing automation programs across platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Virtuous, Engaging Networks, and Blackbaud. You own the build queue and the technical process, and you set the standards that keep client work accurate and on schedule as the unit grows.
You sit on the Delta-V leadership team as the owner of production and execution, alongside the leaders who own client strategy, planning, and creative. The developers on your team are skilled executors who work in HTML email, scripting, and AI-assisted development tools. They don't need a manager who out-codes them. They need clean intake, complete requirements, and someone who absorbs the ambiguity upstream so they can build. When requirements are gray, you make the call, and when mistakes get repeated, you turn it into training and checklists.
What You'll Own
Team Leadership
Manage Delta-V's developers and contract overflow resources, including workload balance, prioritization, and professional development
Serve as the escalation point for technical questions, blocked work, and judgment calls that the documented process doesn't cover
Translate requirements into terms developers can build from, and technical findings into terms account teams can pass along to clients
Set the tone for a collaborative, low-drama technical team that other departments trust
Build Queue & Delivery Management
Run the build queue for email and SMS builds, automated donor journeys, landing pages, forms, integrations, and tracking setup
Balance recurring client production against project work and seasonal surges, including the fall and year-end fundraising cycle
Make sure work is actually ready before a developer picks it up: requirements complete, assets in hand, platform access confirmed
Keep ticket records accurate and current so anyone can see capacity and status without asking
Technical Process & Standards
Build and maintain QA checklists, requirements templates, intake standards, and testing discipline for tracking and conversion logic
Identify common failure points across client work and turn them into documented checks so the fix doesn't live in one person's head
Standardize build patterns across platforms so work is portable between developers
Improve the process over time while keeping current work moving
Platform & Access Operations
Manage platform provisioning and access across the client portfolio, including credentials, 2FA, user roles, and secure handoffs
Manage DNS and subdomain setup for client sending domains, landing pages, and tracking
Keep client platform documentation current enough that any developer can pick up an unfamiliar account
Onboarding & Migration Projects
Oversee the technical side of new client onboarding, from platform assessment and access setup through tracking verification and first sends
Lead client platform migration projects when clients change CRMs, donation platforms, or websites, from scoping through post-migration validation
Coordinate developers, contractors, and client-side technical contacts so migrations land on schedule without breaking what already works
Cross-Team Partnership
Partner with strategy, creative, and account teams to scope technical work realistically and flag risk early
Facilitate cross-functional trainings so account, strategy, and creative teams understand what the platforms can do and how to brief technical work well
Represent technical delivery in Delta-V planning, capacity conversations, and process decisions
What We're Looking For
Required
5+ years in marketing technology, email production, or digital marketing operations, with 2+ years managing developers or technical production staff
A working orientation toward code: conversant in HTML, scripting, and modern development workflows, with a baseline grasp of the concepts and terminology your developers use daily. Enough to review work credibly and catch it when an approach smells wrong
You've built process before. The checklist, intake form, or QA standard that fixed a recurring problem, and you can tell us about it
Comfort with gray-area judgment calls where the documented process doesn't cover the case
A collaborative, even-keeled temperament under deadline pressure
Clear written communication for requirements, documentation, and cross-team coordination
Strongly Preferred
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or nonprofit CRMs (Virtuous, Engaging Networks, Blackbaud/Luminate)
Agency experience managing multiple concurrent client contexts without losing the thread
Enough HTML email and web development background to review builds, debug rendering issues, and hold a credible technical conversation with developers
Familiarity with tracking and conversion QA in tag managers and analytics platforms, including verifying that conversion events actually fire
Nice to Have
Experience with nonprofit fundraising, donation platforms, or direct response marketing
Experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools into production workflows
Familiarity with credential and access management at portfolio scale
Where This Role Grows
The immediate job is running delivery well. As Delta-V scales, it grows into technical architecture, ownership of the endorsed platform stack, and platform certifications and partner status.
Salary: 90k-120k DOE
